Elsabé Kloppers ist Professorin für Praktische Theologie an der University of South Africa. Ihre Forschung befasst sich mit der kulturellen und politischen Rolle von religiösen Liedern in gelebter Religion. Weitere Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die Ästhetik und Rezeption von ökumenischen Liedern in verschiedenen Kontexten, die Hermeneutik des Singens als Verkündigung, sowie Aspekte des Singens und Dekolonisation. Sie ist Mitglied des Exekutivkomitees von zwei internationalen hymnologischen Forschungsgesellschaften. 

Elsabé Kloppers is Professor of Practical Theology at the University of South Africa. Her research focuses on the cultural and political role of religious songs in lived religion. Other research interests include the aesthetics and reception of ecumenical songs in various contexts, the hermeneutics of singing as proclamation, as well as aspects of singing and decolonization. She serves on the executive committees of two international hymnological research societies.
