Helmut Schwier

Helmut Schwier ist Professor für Neutestamentliche und Praktische Theologie an der Universität Heidelberg. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Christologie und Homiletik sowie das Verhältnis von Liturgie und Diakonie. Seine bevorstehende Emeritierung ist der Anlass für das Symposium „Christus predigen – in Wort, Tat und Ton“, wo er auch seine Abschiedsvorlesung halten wird.

Helmut Schwier is Professor of New Testament and Practical Theology at the University of Heidelberg. His research focuses on Christology and Homiletics as well as on the relation between liturgy and diaconia. The conference „Preaching Christ“ – in Word, Deed and Sound" is in honour of his upcoming retirement and will therefore include his valedictory lecture.
